Thank you for your interest in the Maintenance Worker, WG 4749-08 position with the USDA Forest Service. Perform seasonal opening and closing of main valves and draining and recharging of water lines.

Perform irregular emergency repairs on heating and plumbing fixtures.

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on vehicles, boats, roads, sidewalks, driveways, and tools.

Conduct regular testing of fuel and water systems at field camps, campgrounds, and various facilities to ensure compliance with state standards.

Use gasoline or diesel-powered equipment in the accomplishment of duties including motor vehicles, boats, backhoes, forklifts, man lift, flat beds, weed eaters, jackhammer, axes, and chainsaws.

Select proper tools, methods, procedures, and techniques to be used based on established practices or specific instructions from the supervisor.
15.
Mix concrete and place in forms to patch or make minor repairs to existing masonry structures and asphalt.

Receive and record a variety of materials, supplies, or equipment coming into the receiving area from an internal or commercial source.
17.
Transport material and equipment following roads and highway regulations, safety and weather variations to protect cargo.
