Assist with field surveys and data collection related to speleology, cave management, air quality, geology, geomorphology, soils, paleoclimatology, archeology, and/or other natural resource inventory or monitoring projects associated with caves and rock shelters.
3.
Use techniques to assist with the assessment of cave resource threats, mitigation of these threats, and restoration of impacted cave resources.
4.
Use caving equipment and techniques to travel through horizontal caves.
5.
Navigate vertical caves using techniques used for Single Rope Technique (SRT), such as passing rebelays, crossing knots while rappelling or ascending, and changing from rappel to ascent or vice versa while on rope.
6.
Participate in cave monitoring project including physical and environmental monitoring, including mapping, surveying, and exploration of new cave passages.
7.
Use mapping and COMPASS Cave Survey software, or other cave survey data processing programs such as Walls, to collect, enter and process cave survey data.

Explain the principles and practices of cave management to park staff, volunteers, researchers, visitors, and other outside groups.
