Manage and monitor construction work, overseeing and coordinating project inspectors, and contracting officer's technical representatives to ensure project goals are met and work items are performed in accordance with project plans and acceptable work practices.

Provide on-site inspection and coordination of construction and engineering work required for construction projects.

Respond to concerns voiced by all parties, resolve complex problems and conflicts to meet project goals, coordinate and implement needed solutions and modification within acceptable funding and scope parameters.

Prepare procurement documents for the hiring of outside firms for design on all aspects of work relating to the surveillance and control of the design and construction operations for rehabilitation work on a wide variety of historic and non-historic structures and landscapes.

Administer the design contract and ensures compliance with scope, budget, legal requirements and stakeholder needs.

Review contractors' cost breakdown and negotiates agreed upon costs for all items identified under specified construction projects and submits to Contracting for approval.
15.
Participate in design/review conferences, charrettes, and studies with historical architects, conservators, and archeologists, and outside firms, to review aspects of design relating to project construction work.

Review project plans and specifications prior to contract advertisement to verify practicality of proposed construction, compliance with building codes, and compliance with accessibility standards; determine whether physical obstructions or other construction difficulties have been anticipated..

Attend pre-bid, bid-opening and pre-construction meetings to discuss and clarify construction details, and inform contractor of requirements concerning construction scheduling, safety measures, wages and hour law observance, payroll and other items essential to administering and maintaining the construction project.

Review projects to ensure that they are in compliance with building codes and the accessibility laws and standards.
