Facilitates comprehensive multi-jurisdictional river, conservation and recreation planning, including developing study methods, evaluating resources, formulating recommendations and developing long-range implementation strategies.

Gathers in-depth information and performs complex analyses of community assets, land use patterns, river and trail corridors, and open space areas for specific projects.

Provides technical assistance to public land managers, states, tribes, localities, and private organizations with river and trail plans, conservation and open space protection projects, community park development and stewardship, and engagement activities.

Organizes and conducts meetings and workshops both in-person and virtually with community groups, public agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other conservation and recreation stakeholders for a variety of planning activities and initiatives.

Develops and implement methods for substantively involving the interested public in the planning process, with diverse engagement of community interests.

Advises partners on techniques and best practices for building sustainable organizations that can carry out planning and implementation strategies.

Facilitates multi-disciplinary teams to identify community needs and problems, assisting the public with developing goals, priorities, and strategies for enhancing the quality of communities and natural areas for conservation, public recreation, and other uses.

Works with partners and other program staff to establish, monitor and update project work plans, and help to set priorities for the allocation and structuring of project work.
11.
Develops agreements between federal agencies, states, local and private organizations to facilitate the management and conservation of natural and recreational resources.
12.
Works with partners to write and produce plans, studies, and print and digital public outreach materials to increase public awareness and facilitate implementation.
13.
Prepares and delivers presentations to public gatherings and agency representatives and Congressional staff on program technical assistance activities.
14.
Communicates frequently with elected officials, representatives of public agencies and private organizations, representing the NPS on agency programs and policies.
15.
Prepares and reviews briefing materials, correspondence and reports related to assigned program and project activities. Represents NPS at public meetings and workshops.
