This position requires that the incumbent possess a Driver's License. From the descriptions below, select the one response that best describes how you meet this requirement. Operate motor vehicles on improved and unimproved (gravel) roads.
4.
Operate a motor vehicle equipped with a snow plow up to 8 and 1/2 feet wide to remove snow and ice from a variety of road surfaces.
5.
Maneuver oversized vehicles and trailers within close tolerances when driving or backing over uneven ground and in narrow congested areas between buildings and other vehicles and equipment.
6.
Operate dump trucks with one-ton capacity to haul road maintenance material.
7.
Keep vehicles and associated equipment in a clean and orderly state.
8.
Perform repairs such as asphalt patching, crack sealing, concrete surface repairs, or resurfacing gravel trails, roads, and parking areas.
9.
Use chainsaws, weed eaters, lawn mowers, power blowers, etc.
10.
Dig ditches, level grades and fill holes in road and trail surfaces.
11.
Properly load, arrange, and secure cargo and make judgments concerning the arrangement and security of cargo.

Perform daily service inspections, ensure major repair needs are reported, and schedule repairs to motor vehicles.

Follow simple diagrams and drawings which illustrate work assignments.

Interpret and apply federal, state, and local laws, rules, and guidelines in the operation of motor vehicles.

Follow written policies, procedures, and instructions related to driving missions.

Complete assignments within expected timeframes.

Transport material and personnel to and from worksites.

Determine the safest and most direct routes considering vehicle weights, clearances, road width, load limits and other route conditions.

Perform operator maintenance on motor vehicles such as washing, waxing, and adding fuel, oil, and hydraulic fluid.

Operate vehicles and associated equipment to load, haul, dump, spread and stockpile dirt, mud, sand, gravel, and hot mix .
21.
Operate front-end loaders with up to one-half cubic yard capacity to load dump trucks.
