Eligibilities

Are you the spouse of a relocating Armed Forces member? If yes, please confirm the following: I am a military spouse who is currently married to my active duty sponsor.
I am exercising my preference eligibility for positions within the local commuting area of my sponsor's current duty station. I certify that I have not accepted nor declined a permanent, continuing Federal or non-appropriated fund position in the local commuting area of our current duty location.
NOTE 1: Military spouses are eligible for one permanent appointment using their preference eligibility for the duration of the active duty sponsor's assignment to a permanent duty station, as long as the military spouse has not declined or accepted a permanent Federal or non-appropriated fund position in the commuting area of the sponsor's current duty location. If you certify that you have not used your preference at your sponsor's current duty location and it is discovered to be untrue, you may be subject to loss of MSP and possible disciplinary action.
NOTE 2: You must include documentation of your preference eligibility which includes: A copy of the PCS orders and your marriage certificate or license.
Failure to provide this documentation will result in a rating of ineligible.

You have not been appointed using this authority under these orders AND
You have not accepted a permanent position or temporary position of one year or longer at this duty station?
Note: Your application package MUST include the PCS or travel orders authorizing you to accompany the sponsor to the foreign overseas duty station and the effective date of the permanent change of station. If you are not listed as a dependent on the orders, additional documentation must be submitted to verify you are a family member (e.g., copy of your birth certificate). Failure to provide this documentation will result in a rating of ineligible.

Assessment 1
Thank you for your interest in the Department of the Navy Nonappropriated Funds Employment. This section will be used to determine if you possess the education and/or experience to qualify for a Child Counselor position. Failure to respond to any of the questions will result in an ineligible rating.

Do you possess ALL of the requirements listed below?
1) State or U.S. territory or license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as independent practitioner in the fields of Licensed Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology; AND
2) Two years, full-time clinical experience post independent licensure or certification; AND
3) Possess at least a Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation in one of the following clinical fields:
1) State or U.S. territory or license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as independent practitioner in the fields of Licensed Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology; AND
2) Two years, full-time clinical experience post independent licensure or certification; AND
3) Possess at least a Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation in one of the following clinical fields:
- Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs or an equivalent degree.
- Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education or an equivalent degree.
- Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or an equivalent degree.
- Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school AND a 1-year APA accredited clinical internship.

Do you have a minimum of one (1) year experience in assessment and treatment of children and demonstrated experience working with children exposed to family violence?
3.
How many years of experience do you have with documenting in client records?
4.
How many years of experience do you have with effectively interviewing and clinically responding to the needs of clients to include suicidal and homicidal risks, substance abuse issues and crisis response situations?

Do you have experience working directly with Active Duty Military families?

You must have demonstrated knowledge in the areas of family systems, particularly as it relates to patterns of abusive behavior, mental health issues, substance abuse and juvenile delinquency. How many years of experience do you have working with the child and youth population?

You must have demonstrated an understanding of and ability to apply various counseling approaches as related to the child and youth population. How many years of experience do you have providing counseling services to the child and youth population?
8.
You must have demonstrated knowledge and ability to respond to allegations of family violence, assess safety concerns, and coordinate services for families. How many years of experience do you have with addressing family violence issues and coordinating services for families?
