Are you willing to accept an Intermittent appointment? Intermittent employment is defined as non-fulltime employment in which employees serve under an excepted or competitive service appointment without a regularly scheduled tour of duty. A position with an intermittent work schedule is sporadic and unpredictable so that a tour of duty cannot be regularly scheduled in advance.

Requirement for this program: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) program. Active accreditation must be from an Accreditation Commission for Education (ACEN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) of the American Association of College of Nursing (AACN) accredited baccalaureate or generic equivalent nursing program for nursing students or National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) baccalaureate, or generic equivalent Medical Technologist program for medical technology students.

I will complete my junior year of a traditional BSN (unlicensed) academic program that is ACEN or CCNE accredited by June 2024, and I anticipate my graduation date to be June 2025 or sooner.

I will submit a letter of nomination to the VA- STEP program from the Dean, the Director or Faculty Advisor of your nursing program that verifies expected completion of your junior year by June of 2024, full-time status, and anticipation graduation by June 2025?

I have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, with no grade lower than a "C" in any nursing course. The cumulative GPA for the nursing core courses may not be less than a 3.0.
