Basic education requirement:
A. Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus. OR
B. Combination of education and experience- courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

Examples of qualifying experience include: (a) individual economic research assignments requiring planning, information assembly, analysis and evaluation, conclusions and report preparation; (b) supervisory or project coordination assignments involving a staff of professional economists, and requiring the evaluation and interpretation of economic information; or (c) teaching assignments in a college or university that included both class instruction in economics subjects and one of the following (1) personal research that produced evidence of results, (2) direction of graduate theses in economics, or (3) service as a consultant or advisor on technical economics problems.

-Conducting macroeconomic or financial analysis with a focus on financial markets, international trade, investment, development finance, climate finance or multilateral development.  This experience could be gained through a variety of professional experiences and be reflected via a wide range of tasks and activities. We are looking for experience such as, but not limited to: drafting research reports about the subject areas; drafting regular and routine market or news updates/digests; reviewing policy memos, white papers, or other written material related to the above broad international policy subject areas and summarizing in written or oral format; analysis of financial or budget documents; drafting external communication materials including reports, posts, newsletters, etc. about the subject areas; leveraging various programming language(s) and/or software tools to conduct any sort of statistical, economic, or financial analysis about the above broad subject areas.

OR
You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
