1. GS-11 Basic Qualifications:   Experience and/or Education.  All applicants must meet one of the following. Select the appropriate answer to each of the following questions based on your current level of experience and/or education that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position. Experience: Do you possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience, which equips you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the Staffing Assistant GS-11 position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, this specialized experience must have been equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in Federal service to qualify at the grade 11.   

Examples of specialized experience include:
  • Receives and monitors completed actions or responses; analyzes responses for completeness and accuracy against known policies and procedures
  • Works in coordination with other internal reviewing services regarding complex audits and internal/external reviews of a national concern; i. e, fiscal efficiencies and organizational structure
  • Personnel Management: writing position descriptions for classification in Consolidated Classification Unit (CCU), composing standard operating procedures (SOP), Preparing Resource Management Board (RMB) requests, complete Decision Support System (DSS) labor mapping reviews, coordinating recruitment activities, coordinating disciplinary/adverse actions, preparing budget briefings, etc.
  • EPAS / webVRAM requests, timecard approver/certifier and other duties as they arise.
  • Assures compliance with all applicable policies, and development and maintenance of internal management processes related to these online tools. Coordinates strategic planning activities preparing strategic plans in conjunction with VHA policies and regulations, Access and call center metrics and VHA goals and initiatives.
Note: Evidence of specialized experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held on your resume. You must provide work experience information such as hours per week, salary, and starting/ending dates of employment (month and year format) to establish you have one (1) full year of Specialized Experience at or comparable to the required grade level.

OR, 

Education: 

  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

  • 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
