Operates two or more types of heavy equipment to excavate, backfill, grade, or level earth to rough specifications on such projects as breaking new ground for trails, roads, canals, tunnels, or construction sites; Move earth on moderate slopes, graded curves and shoulders, rocky or soft ground, hilly forest, and other surfaces with similar rough features; Operate engineering equipment on flat and rolling terrain to excavate, backfill, grade or level earth, including roads to exact specifications; Follow established safety procedures to avoid injury and damage equipment or property.

The duties of this position involve operation of vehicles that require the operator to possess a Commercial Driver's License with endorsements. Operate tractor/trailer combination heavy trucks exceeding 80,000 lbs. on winding roads, unpaved roads, narrow roads and steep grades.

Operate equipment based on peculiar features of the vehicles overhead and underneath clearances, turning radius, and stopping distances at different speeds.

Operate heavy trucks and vehicles with manual transmissions, dual transmissions, and multiple gear boxes.
