Knowledge of the applied science of geology and/or sub-disciplines such as paleontology, volcanology, geomorphology, speleology, geochemistry, and soil science as applied to management of natural resources.

Apply a working knowledge of geology toward resource management in subarctic environments.

Conduct fieldwork collecting samples or using Global Positioning System (GPS).

Develop databases to organize and maintain information related to geology and geohazards.

Implement and ensure compliance with National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA).

Lead strategic-level planning effort for a complex geological resources management program that includes setting goals, prioritizing activities, and measuring success.
