This position is being filled as a College Graduate under Public Law 115-232, 5 CFR § 315.614 (i). Applicants must meet the BASIC REQUIREMENTS of the College Graduate authority.

1. Education Requirement (GS-07/09): You must meet the Basic Requirements for this position. Select the appropriate response that describes the education requirement you possess for this position:

A. I am a recent graduate who has completed a bachelor's or graduate degree within the previous two years - OR - I am a uniformed service members who has completed a bachelor's or graduate degree and was unable to apply within two years of obtaining a degree due to a uniformed service obligation of at least four years, and may apply within two years of discharge from uniformed service.

B. I do not meet the minimum education requirement as described above.

In addition to meeting the BASIC REQUIREMENTS, applicants must also meet the specialized experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service.

2. At the GS-07, select the one statement that best describes the education and/or experience that you possess that demonstrates your ability to perform the work of a Physical Security Specialist.

A. I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience in security concepts, principles, and practices to review and analyze security problems to identify threats and vulnerabilities to government facilities and determine appropriate countermeasures or protection systems; experience in electronic security systems in order to develop and administer an electronic security program and/or experience in communicating sensitive security information both orally and inwriting with internal and external customers to provide briefings, training, and interviews.

B. I have successfully completed one full year of graduate level education OR possess superior academic achievement in a related field of study such as criminal justice, security management, homeland security or business management.

C. I have a combination of specialized experience and graduate level education that together meet 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.

D. I do not meet any of the requirements described above.

3. At the GS-09, select the one statement that best describes the education and/or experience that you possess that demonstrates your ability to perform the work of a Physical Security Specialist.

A. I have one year of specialized experience at the GS-7 grade level in the federal service which includes experience security concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze and resolve difficult and complex security problems to identify threats and vulnerabilities to government facilities and determine appropriate countermeasures or protection systems; experience in electronic security systems in order to develop and administer an electronic security program; experience in communicating sensitive security information both orally and inwriting with internal and external customers to provide briefings, training, and interviews; and/or experience in security concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze, and resolve security problems involving overlapping and conflicting requirements.

B. I have completed 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education OR possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B. or J.D.) in a related field of study such as criminal justice, security management, homeland security or business management.

C. I have a combination of specialized experience and graduate level education that together meet 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.

D. I do not meet any of the requirements described above.
