12. Plan, implement, and troubleshoot appropriate instrumentation schemes and techniques for data collection that include both standard field equipment and novel or pilot digital systems such as acoustic profilers and developing techniques for processing and quality assuring the resulting data.

13. Provide advice as hydroacoustic specialist to technician, peers, researchers, and management on hydroaccoustic instrumentation and techniques as they apply to surface-water hydrology.

14. Maintain current familiarity with the latest developments in the field of surface water and surface water modeling through consultation with leading authorities in universities, state and Federal agencies throughout the country.
