Review and evaluate annual reports and provide early input to scientists in developing research plans.
21.
Identify need for and arrange field program reviews to assess, validate, and schedule research program shifts targeted in implementations and operational plans.

Evaluate operational plans and ongoing research programs and assess progress toward achieving program plan objectives.
23.
Provide leadership to improve the impact of agricultural research on scientists, industry, and action and regulatory agencies.

Keep abreast of current research and pertinent scientific literature and attend scientific meetings that relate to assigned area of expertise and responsibility.
