QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To qualify for this position, you must meet the qualification requirements outlined below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR GS-08:
You must have one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) in the Federal government. Specialized experience is experience that is directly related to the work of this position and has provided you with the competencies required for successful job performance. Examples of qualifying experience include identifying problems and probable causes, and providing recommendations for resolution; researching and gathering a variety of statistics and information and reports findings for the full scope of the program; experience revising procedures and guidelines; preparing memoranda, preliminary reports, and charts showing findings and recommendations using database or spreadsheet software to prepare a variety of documents and to enter, revise, manipulate, sort, calculate, store and retrieve data.
Candidates must meet the typing proficiency and office automation skills, as well as the experience and/or education required for this position.
Applicants must be a qualified typist with a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute (based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors). Applicants may meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for three years. We may verify proficiency skills of self-certified applicants by administering the appropriate performance test.
