1. Select the one statement that best describes the education that you possess that demonstrates your ability to perform the work of a Supervisory Forester at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service.

A. I have a bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in forestry; or a related subject-matter field that included a total of at least 30 semester hours in any combination of biological, physical, or mathematical sciences or engineering, of which at least 24 semester hours of course work were in forestry. My curriculum was sufficiently diversified and included courses in each of the following areas: (1) Management of Renewable Resources -- study of the science and art of managing renewable resources to attain desired results; (2) Forest Biology -- study of the classification, distribution, characteristics, and identification of forest vegetation, and the interrelationships of living organisms to the forest environment; and (3) Forest Resource Measurements and Inventory -- sampling, inventory, measurement, and analysis techniques as applied to a variety of forest resources. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

B. I have a combination of education and experience which includes courses equivalent to a major in forestry, or at least 30 semester hours in any combination of biological, physical, or mathematical sciences or engineering, of which at least 24 semester hours were in forestry. My curriculum was sufficiently diversified and included courses in each of the areas described in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. 2. Select the one statement that best describes the education and/or experience that you possess that demonstrates your ability to perform the work of a Supervisory Forester at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service.

A. I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes conducting forest inventories and timber sale preparation to obtain critical resource measurement parameters (i.e. forest cover type, tree diameters, forest products, species composition, tree growth increment, reproductive age, forest fuel accumulations, etc.); and utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and/or Global Positioning System (GPS) to update forest inventories and prepare timber sales.

B. I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Forestry, Forest Technology, Forest Management, Forest Resources Management, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources Conservation, Natural Resources Conservation, Natural Resource Management, Wildlife Management, etc. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

C. I have the specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have at least two years of graduate education as described in B, but less than the required three years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
