ELIGIBILITY: Recent graduates who have completed, within the previous two years, a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution or intended graduation is no more than 9 months from date of application. A veteran, who, due to a military service obligation, was precluded from applying to the Recent Graduates Program during any portion of the 2-year eligibility period shall have a full 2-year period of eligibility upon his or her release or discharge from active duty. In no event, however, may the individual's eligibility period extend beyond 6 years from the date on which the individual completed the requirements of an academic course of study. Specialized Experience for the CN-40 level: To qualify at CN-40, you must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the CN-30 level in the Federal service. (For qualification purposes, the CN-30 level is broadly equivalent to the GS-07 level). For this position, specialized experience may be defined as:

  • Experience developing custom applications and/or infrastructure to meet requirements; AND
  • Experience writing and editing back-end code; AND
  • 3. Experience in software development, software infrastructure, cloud engineering, DevOps, or cybersecurity.

OR

Education: Master's degree or equivalent; OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a related field of study.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be combined with experience.
