Determine causes of basic medical implications relating to trauma (e.g., closed and open soft tissue wounds , broken extremities, head/back injuries, etc.) to apply appropriate treatments to the patient consistent with protocols.

Initiates cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), uses Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), and assists with airway management using bag-valve-mask (BVM), Oral or Nasopharyngeal Airway (OPA, NPA).
14.
Uses and maintains emergency equipment and supplies such as backboards, suction devices, AEDs, medication, splints, oxygen delivery systems, and stretchers.
15.
Use emergency communication language and equipment to accurately obtain and relay information from dispatchers or health care providers.
16.
Provide brief incident report to other emergency responders and dispatch using mobile radios.
17.
Collaborate with Emergency Services personnel to ensure emergency responses (e.g., injured victims, search and rescue) are assigned.
18.
Participates in quality assurance and qualify improvement through peer reviewing charts and providing feedback to providers using quality assurance or improvement standards.
19.
Performs impromptu training for coworkers on proper EMS techniques and use of personal protective equipment.
20.
Participates in and or conducts After Action Reviews (AARs) for complicated or complex Emergency Calls.

Familiar with emergency and patient transport vehicles and their capabilities.

Performing safety and maintenance inspections and minor repairs on emergency and transport vehicles.
