GS-11 Time in Grade Restriction
Time-In-Grade Requirement:
Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-9 . The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. Knowledge of fundamental principles and theories of interior design and space planning including Commercial / Historical Structure / Institutional / Barrier Free Design experience
Familiarity with a variety of methods, techniques, and materials used in architectural and interior design needs
Experience with scaling architectural floor plans and space layouts
Possess Computer Aided Design (CAD) training, and / or experience with Auto CAD drafting, specialty design software and application/s. (i.e., Auto CAD, Archtecture, 3DS Max, Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Sketch up and related software)
Presentation experience
Coaching, consensus building and planning techniques
Knowledge of budgets, basic accounting methods, estimates and and related financial project management
Justification of quotes, market research, and related documents for projects
Infection Prevention and control practices for healthcare environments

Do you possess A Ph.D. or 3 years of progressively higher-level graduation education leading to such a degree with a major study in interior design or other field that included or was supplemented by at least 30 semester hours in interior design, interior architecture, or interior environmental design?

Uses the Design Process: Programming, Planning, Schematics, Design, Construction Documents, Installation, Post-Occupancy Evaluation, to create safe, functional, aesthetically pleasing environments for VA Medical Center patients, visitors and staff.
