1. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-12
To qualify for the GS-12 you must possess the specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in Federal Service or equivalent public/private sector experience. For this position, specialized experience is defined as:
  • Using automated systems, national level databases, hard copy studies, and open-source information to conduct counterintelligence investigations.
  • Assessing potential threats and vulnerabilities to determine the level of risk and develop recommendations for appropriate mitigation countermeasures.
  • Interpreting specialized datasets or other intelligence regarding a target's capabilities.
  • Developing intelligence information reports and documents to explain the target's impact on national operations.
  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to develop new sources of intelligence information and foster cooperation in exploiting targets.

2. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-13
To qualify for the GS-13 you must possess the specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in Federal Service or equivalent public/private sector experience. For this position, specialized experience is defined as:
  • Graduated from an accredited counterintelligence training school (i.e., Defense Counterintelligence Agent Course (DCAC), Counterintelligence Special Agent Course (CISAC) or equivalent to qualify for GS-13
  • Leading counterintelligence investigations and intelligence gathering activities.
  • Using automated systems, national level databases, hard copy studies, and open-source information to conduct counterintelligence investigations.
  • Assessing potential threats and vulnerabilities to determine the level of risk and develop recommendations for appropriate mitigation countermeasures.
  • Interpreting specialized datasets or other intelligence regarding a target's capabilities.
  • Developing intelligence information reports and documents to explain the target's impact on national operations.
  • Leading coordination activities with internal and external stakeholders to develop new sources of intelligence information and foster cooperation in exploiting targets.
