Thank you for your interest in a Welder position with the Department of the Army. We will evaluate your resume and your responses to this assessment questionnaire to determine if you are among the best qualified for this position. Your responses are subject to verification. 1. From the descriptions below, select the appropriate response based on your level of experience, education, and/or training, that you fully possess and that demonstrates your ability to perform Welder duties without more than normal supervision.

A. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex range of duties of a Welding Worker which includes using electric, acetylene and/or inert gas shielded welding processes, planning, laying out work, using templates, jigs, blueprints, and/or making welds from simple to precision welding utilizing the shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and flux core arc welding (FCAW) processes. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.

B. I have the ability to perform the full range of duties of a Welder which includes using electric, acetylene and/or inert gas shielded welding processes, planning, laying out work, using templates, jigs, and blueprints. I work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who reviews my work for completion.

C. I have the ability to perform some tasks of a Welder which includes assisting in welding processes, planning, using templates, jigs, and blueprints. I work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who reviews my work for completion.

D. I have the ability to perform common duties of a Welder which includes assisting in welding processes, using templates, jigs, and blueprints. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

E. I have the ability to perform simple tasks associated with Welder work. I have received training on welding metals and the welding process.

F. I do not possess the abilities described above.
