Use current trade practices performing turf management work while top dressing, aerating, grading, seeding and fertilizing.

Performs garden bed maintenance including deadheading, staking, weeding, and dividing.
4.
Identify common tree defects which leads to tree failure and choose options to remedy the problem.
5.
Make pruning decisions based on plant species, location, plant health, and time of year.
6.
Plant and transplant trees, shrubs, vines, groundcovers, annuals and perennials.
7.
Waters plant material at the appropriate time and duration to achieve proper soil moisture levels.
8.
Measure and mix fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides for landscape treatments following instructions on product labels.

Calibrate equipment for appropriate application rates of fertilizer and soil amendments according to the products specifications and square footage of area of application.

Measure size (i.e. square footage) of an area using a measuring wheel or tape measure when determining the amount of material (i.e. topsoil, mulch, etc.) needed for a landscape project.

Use chainsaws and perform minor field and daily maintenance.

Use and maintain hand tools such as saws, pruners, hedge trimmers and clippers, fertilizer spreaders, sprayers.

Interpret programs for the use of fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and soil amendments to maintain trees and plant beds.

Recognize common weeds, insects and diseases of landscape plants and turf and appropriate control measures.

Identify appropriate plants for existing growing conditions to minimize care needed.
