Utilize common personal safety protective equipment including ear protective devices, safety glasses, and hard hats.
3.
Utilize handcarts, dollies, and hydraulic hand truck when moving, loading and unloading materials and supplies.

Safely drive / operate light duty motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds (such as pick-up trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, etc.) to safely transport personnel, materials, or equipment to work sites.

Properly store and use toxic cleaning supplies in accordance with labeling instructions and procedures.

Operate push and riding lawn mowers safely on uneven terrain without damaging property or people.

On a daily basis, Lift and move objects weighing over 50 pounds, and in some cases, carrying 80 to 100 pounds (or more) with assistance.

Utilize protective devices on power equipment including blade guards on mowers.
9.
Cut / mow areas of lawn or turf to specified height using push or riding lawn mowers.

Construct / erect temporary scaffolding, platforms or stages.

Read and understand work orders, sketches, and drawings in order to complete work assigned.

Read and follow written instructions on the safe use of cleaning chemicals and other hazardous materials to ensure that no accidents or spills occur.
13.
Remove weeds from flower beds and ornamental gardens without damaging flowers and plants.
14.
Empty trash barrels; replace plastic liners and disposal of trash properly while maintaining the appearance of public areas.
15.
Follow written work schedules and plans to ensure that assigned work is performed correctly and in a timely fashion.
16.
Perform required duties while maintaining a clean and neat work area.
17.
Perform basic maintenance on lawn movers and weed-whackers, such as adding fuel, cleaning and lubricating parts, changing tires or other parts, and tightening screws, bolts and connections.
18.
Read and follow written instruction on safe use and maintenance of power tools and equipment.
19.
Perform minor operator maintenance on light duty motor vehicles such as pickup trucks, panel trucks, vans, flatbed trucks, such as adding fuel, cleaning and lubricating parts, adding oil or other fluids, and changing air filters or windshield wipers.
20.
Operate and maintain gas and electric power tools such as edgers, hedge trimmers, or weed whackers while performing routine grounds maintenance duties.
