4. GS-11 Specialized Experience: In addition to meeting the basic requirements, you must have one year of experience equivalent to the GS-10 level in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR). Employees at this level functions as a lead technologist for a group of DRTs at the GS-10 level and below. The Lead DRT (MR) performs a full range of general radiologic treatment procedures and possesses broad knowledge of the different modalities within the diagnostic radiologic area. The technologist is accountable to the next higher-level supervisor. Performs all aspects of MRI imaging head, neck, spine, abdomen, pelvis, musculoskeletal, special imaging procedures such as Arthrograms, MRA/MRV angiography exams utilizing specialized sequences to visualize the anatomy and pathology necessary for diagnosis. Responsible for maintenance of Level 1 and Level 2 MRI safety training. Responsible for screening patients, care givers, medical providers, and all others who enter the MRI suite for contraindications for entering Zone IV. Responsible for operating and maximizing utilization of a wide variety of highly sophisticated imaging equipment. Ability to prioritize scheduled patients as well as the ability to accommodate the emergency patient.
