Perform nuisance black bear culvert-trapping in a professional field setting following an established protocol.

Perform nuisance black bear aversive conditioning using projectile noisemakers, paintball gun rounds, bean bag rounds, and rubber slugs in a professional field setting following an established policy/protocol.

Use global positioning systems (GPS) to record and navigate to, geographical locations in the field.

Use the internet to access natural resource information, references, and conduct literature searches.
12.
Contribute basic information for writing biological science and resource management reports, field reports and science communication.

Use computer software and online databases (e.g., SharePoint and Google Sheets) to perform wildlife-related data entry and quality control.

Create reports and informational material for park staff and/or the public related to wildlife management using a variety of media.
15.
Communicate controversial information to the public (e.g., the need for aversive conditioning black bears, proper food storage in park areas, maintain safe viewing distances with wildlife, etc.).

Provide instruction and guidance to others on wildlife management principles and human-wildlife interactions.

Work safely as part of a 2-person crew performing human-bear conflicts and wildlife management work.

Think creatively to solve problems and tactfully suggest program improvements to supervisors.

Contribute to writing biological science and resource management reports, field reports and science communication related to wildlife management plans that may include threatened and endangered species management.

Direct/lead field operations related to wildlife inventory and management.
21.
Lead black bear culvert-trapping operations in a professional field setting following an established protocol.
22.
Provide training/guidance on the safe use of black bear aversive conditioning and hazing tools (i.e., paintball guns and projectile noisemakers).
23.
Certified in 36 hour NPS (or equivalent) Wildlife Anesthesia/Wildlife Capture course -- OR -- Perform free-range capture, handling, processing/work-up, and relocation of black bears using wildlife anesthesia pharmaceuticals in a professional field setting with an established protocol.
