Provide expert and authoritative information concerning contract content, accepted interpretation, and proposed course of action in support to timber contracting.

Serve as Agency Contracting Officer (CO) for executing contracts for commercial sales and Integrated Resources Timber Contracts.

Provide leadership review of all types of contract modifications including environmental modifications and contract defaults as part of the timber sale program.

Interpret for explanation, agency policies and programs in timber or multiple-use management programs to internal and external customers.

Evaluate levels of expertise of Forest timber management/production personnel ensuring required competencies meet mission needs.

Provide management oversight of log accountability program to ensure agency standards.
10.
Provide subject matter expertise in the sale negotiation and administration with purchasers, industrial associations, or lawyers representing purchasers to reach an equitable agreement.
11.
Review timber trespass cases connected with timber sale contracts allowing for informed decision making.
12.
Provide consultative services to internal/external customers regarding timber and fire trespass cases.
13.
Provide expert level explanation regarding contract matters of interest to officials and legal representatives of industry associations, timber companies, and loggers purchasing Forest Service products.
14.
Prepare responsive statements and investigative reports for submission to the agency head for review.
15.
Prepare cases with recommendations for action for leadership review consideration.
16.
Prepare correspondence and documents explaining agency board of appeals decisions as required law regulation.
