1. From the descriptions below, select the appropriate response based on your level of experience, education, and/or training, that you fully possess and that demonstrates your ability to perform Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic duties without more than normal supervision.

A. I have the ability to perform to most difficult and complex Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic tasks such as; installing large commercial and industrial air-conditioning and heating systems, hot water heaters, heat pumps, gas and oil-fueled boilers, and chillers with helical, reciprocal, scroll and centrifugal compressors and working on large projects and systems with complex issues and extensive repairs requiring difficult judgments. I am skilled in testing and repairing these systems using various meters, gauges, and hand tools to make diagnoses; and performing repairs. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.

B. I have the ability to perform the full range of Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic tasks. I am skilled in making visual, audible, and mechanical checks for proper temperature of conditioned spaces, proper operation of different parts of refrigeration systems, proper oil levels, unusual noises, loose connections, and faulty insulation; applying prescribed testing procedures and equipment; and exploring probable reasons for equipment failure. I am skilled at performing complete system repairs such as dismantling, repairing and reassembling units such as pumps, impellers, compressors, chillers, receivers, and evaporators. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.

C. I have the ability to perform common Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic duties such as checking for proper temperature of conditioned spaces, proper operation of different parts of refrigeration systems, proper oil levels, unusual noises, loose connections, and faulty insulation; applying prescribed testing procedures and equipment; and exploring probable reasons for equipment failure; I can complete system repairs such as dismantling, repairing and reassembling units such as pumps, impellers, compressors, chillers, receivers, and evaporators under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

D. I have the ability to perform simple Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic tasks checking for proper temperature of conditioned spaces, proper operation of different parts of refrigeration systems, proper oil levels, unusual noises, loose connections, and faulty insulation; applying prescribed testing procedures and equipment; and exploring probable reasons for equipment failure or I have received training in checking for proper temperature of conditioned spaces, proper operation of different parts of refrigeration systems, proper oil levels, unusual noises, loose connections, and faulty insulation; applying prescribed testing procedures and equipment; and exploring probable reasons for equipment failure.

E. I do not possess the abilities described above.
