The Uniformed Division Officer position has a stringent vision requirement as a condition of employment. To meet the requirement, applicants MUST have, at a minimum, 1) an uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular (both eyes tested together, 2) a corrected visual acuity of 20/20 binocular (both eyes tested together); and 3) a corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye. Uniformed Division Officer applicants may be required to complete successfully a physical fitness test consisting of four assessments that are intended to evaluate an applicant's strength, agility, endurance, and other physical capabilities as part of the application process. To meet this requirement, at an absolute minimum, applicants MUST currently be able to 1) complete 23 sit-ups in 1 minute; 2) complete 15 push-ups in 1 minute; and 3) run 1.5 miles in 19 minutes and 40 seconds 4) complete the Illinois Agility Run in 23.88 seconds or less.
