The Uniformed Division Officer position has a stringent vision requirement as a condition of employment. To meet the requirement, applicants MUST have, at a minimum, 1) an uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular (both eyes tested together, 2) a corrected visual acuity of 20/20 binocular (both eyes tested together); and 3) a corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye. You must be able to currently meet each of these vision standards. If you receive a conditional offer of employment, you will be required to provide the results of an eye examination, to be completed by your eye doctor, to confirm your responses regarding your vision. False responses or an attempt to conceal actual visual acuity will cause your application to be ineligible for processing.

Uniformed Division Officer applicants may be required to complete successfully a physical fitness test consisting of four assessments that are intended to evaluate an applicant's strength, agility, endurance, and other physical capabilities as part of the application process. The fitness test requires an applicant to perform push-ups, sit-ups, an agility run and 1.5 mile run, and to exceed the required baseline score across all components.

The U.S. Secret Service has a stringent physical fitness requirement as a condition of employment. To meet this requirement, at an absolute minimum, applicants MUST currently be able to 1) complete 23 sit-ups in 1 minute; 2) complete 15 push-ups in 1 minute; and 3) run 1.5 miles in 19 minutes and 40 seconds 4) complete the Illinois Agility Run in 23.88 seconds or less. I certify that I am able to meet these minimum standards for the Applicant Physical Abilities Test (APAT).
