Apply health information exchange principles to medical laboratory to order or retrieve tests results using an electronic health record system to help provide clinical decision support (i.e., clinical reminders, access to prior clinical laboratory results or closer monitoring of key population health indicators).

Ordering and releasing tests through a Laboratory Information System (LIS).

Monitor lab quality assurance procedures, proficiency testing performance and specimen collection technique.
8.
Disinfect work area to reduce the duration of exposure to an infectious agent and/or prevent dissemination of the infectious agent using proper cleaning protocols.
9.
Review trouble-shooting on instruments to determine if appropriate action was performed by subordinate to ensure instrument or quality control discrepancies are resolved.

Implement procedures for quality controls on laboratory equipment and tests.
