Participate in the development of SOPs which may require searching scientific literature concerning animal care.

Oversee and monitor the maintenance of detailed record keeping of animal history by staff members.

Maintain work records or logbooks, providing explanations concerning issues and responses to issues.
6.
Receive, prepare, document, or submit reports concerning potential safety issues, accident, injury, or near miss activities.
7.
Use electronic devices such as smart phones, computers, tablets, handheld or handsfree devices to communicate.
8.
Provide advice on the feasibility of work assignments and schedules.
9.
Plan daily, weekly, or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for staff.
10.
Ensure facilities and equipment are in proper operating conditions.
11.
Schedule animals to be euthanized and removed in accordance with plans agreed to by research scientists.
12.
Ensure activities are in compliance with policies, laws, regulations, and standards.
13.
Initiate action to resolve or correct technical difficulties and bring suggestions for resolution.
14.
Ensure the scheduling of cleaning, sanitizing, and decontaminating of immediate animal environments, trailers, corridors, or any other areas.
15.
Ensure instructions are followed in the administration of diets, drugs, medications or other chemical agents such as routine vaccines.
16.
Train new staff members and explain work requirements such as expected standard and quality of work.
17.
Coordinate staff availability for after hour emergencies and personnel issues.
