SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Knowledge of physiology and cross-sectional human anatomy for both adult and pediatric care. This includes an in-depth understanding of the functioning of the major systems and internal organs to interpret requests and to recognize the need for additional tests or a different positions/examination as evidence by the incumbent being registered by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

Educate patient/family concerning ultrasound procedures in order to allay fear and promote maximum cooperation.

Works with Radiologist to insure appropriate diagnostic outcome.

Practice patient scheduling management to improve patient access and flow.

Assure ultrasound technical requirements are met in accordance with ultrasound accrediting agencies.

Differentiate between normal and abnormal structures from imaging and/or simultaneous recordings.

Produce quality ultrasound views for the purpose of diagnostic reporting to radiologist.

Enter patient data into the Picture Archiving System (PACS).
12.
Review requests from physician to identify patient issue(s) and determine the study(ies) to perform or image(s) to obtain.
13.
Utilize Electronic Health Record to retrieve orders, notifications and enter patient information.
