Eligibilities
1. Are you a Department of Defense (DoD) Air Force Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) employee separated by a business-based action within the last year?  If claiming yes, a copy of the AF Form 2545 or notice of separation due to business based action must be uploaded with your application to receive priority consideration. Overseas Area of Consideration

  • I am stationed in the United Kingdom (UK) on Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders, either as the sponsor or a dependent, in connection with the United States (US) Visiting Forces (i.e., military, federal civilian, federal contractor).   • I have a valid UK work visa. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your work visa (front and back) to support this response.
  • I am a dual US and UK citizen. NOTE: You must submit a copy of the photo page of both the US and UK passports to support this response.
  • I am visiting the UK on a tourist visa and seeking a job that offers sponsorship so that I can remain in the UK. NOTE: You must submit a copy of the photo page of the US passport and a cover letter to explain your status to support this response.
  • I am a US citizen or legal resident who is applying from the US. I have a valid US passport and I am able to relocate to the UK within 30 days of selection. NOTE: You must submit a copy of the photo page of the US passport and a cover letter to explain your status to support this response.

2. To be eligible for Nonappropriated funds (NAF) employment in the UK, you must also meet all of the following criteria:
  • You must be a citizen, permanent resident, and legal resident of the United States (US). If you are a permanent or legal resident of the US, but not a US citizen, you must also be citizen of a NATO country, unless authorized to reside in the UK as a dependent of an employee who serves in support of the US Visiting Forces; AND
  • You must reside within the local commuting area (60 mile radius) of RAF Alconbury, UK, or will do so within the next 30 days; AND
  • You must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK; AND
  • You cannot be 'ordinarily resident'. A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces. Time spent in the UK as an employee, or dependent of an employee, of a US agency serving and supporting the US Visiting Forces (i.e., active duty military, federal civilian, AAFES, Red Cross, one of the contract universities, a military banking facility or federal credit union, or US government contractors) is not counted toward being 'ordinary resident'. In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between the US and the UK, British citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, they may be eligible to apply for local national positions on base. Dual US/UK citizens may apply for US NAF positions if they have a valid US passport.
