Thank you for your interest in a Welder Inspector Leader position with the Department of the Army. You resume and your responses to this assessment questionnaire will be used to determine if you are among the best qualified for this position. Your responses are subject to verification. 1. From the descriptions below, select the most appropriate response based on your level of experience, education, and/or training that you fully possess that demonstrates your ability to Lead as a Welder Inspector Leader.

A. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex Welder Inspector Leader tasks including being able to perform visual, dimensional and/or dye penetrant inspections, mag particle, guided bend tests and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) inspection of welds, joint design and fit-up weldments and welding processes involved in the modification and repair of boats, barges and marine and land based related components, weldments on castings, repaired forgings, and sheet metal products. I am skilled in monitoring and coaching employees on proper welding techniques, processes, and procedures; performing welding and fabrication duties; preparing reports and records from inspection results; detecting critical or major defects and deciding corrective action to be taken; and operate motor vehicles, forklifts, and overhead gantry cranes. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.

B. I have the ability to perform the full range of Welder Inspector Leader tasks including a variety of fabrication, weldments, and welding processes. I am skilled in monitoring and coaching employees on proper welding techniques, processes, and procedures; performing welding and fabrication duties; detecting critical or major defects and deciding corrective action to be taken; and operate motor vehicles, forklifts, and overhead gantry cranes. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.

C. I have the ability to perform common Welder Inspector Leader tasks including a variety of fabrication, weldments, and welding processes. I can perform welding and fabrication duties and operate motor vehicles, forklifts, and overhead gantry cranes. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

D. I have the ability to perform simple Welder Inspector Leader (MVO/FLO) duties. I have received training on being a Welder Inspector Leader (MVO/FLO) such as using technical manuals, diagrams, schematics, work orders, inspection standards and other applicable technical publications.

E. I do not possess the abilities described above.
