Eligibilities
1. Are you a Department of Defense (DoD) Air Force Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) employee separated by a business-based action within the last year?  If claiming yes, a copy of the AF Form 2545 or notice of separation due to business based action must be uploaded with your application to receive priority consideration. 2. Are you the spouse or unmarried child of a member (sponsor) of the U.S. Armed Forces or US Civilian employee (sponsor) of a U.S. Government Agency (including NAF activities who either: (a) have not passed their 21st birthday, (b) is incapable of self-support because of a mental or physical incapacity that existed before that birthday or (c) has not passes their 23rd birthday and is enrolled in a full-time course of study in an institution of higher learning? If claiming yes, please upload a copy of your sponsor's Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Orders listing you by name. (limit characters)
3. Are you a spouse of an active duty military member? A military spouse is defined as the wife or husband of an active duty member of the US Armed Forces, including the US Coast Guard and the full time National Guard or Reserves. For the purposes of this preference, the marriage must have occurred PRIOR to the service member's relocation via a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move to the military sponsor's new duty station. If claiming yes, a copy of your Sponsor's Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Orders (along with proof of marriage if applicant's name does not appear on sponsor's orders) must be uploaded with your application to receive preference. 7. To be eligible for Nonappropriated Funds (NAF) employment in the UK, you must meet the following criteria:
  • You must be a citizen, permanent resident, and legal resident of the United States (US). If you are a permanent or legal resident of the US, but not a US citizen, you must also be citizen of a NATO country, unless authorized to reside in the UK as a dependent of an employee who serves in support of the US Visiting Forces; AND
  • You must reside within the local commuting area (60-mile radius) of RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom (UK), or will do so within the next 30 days; AND
  • You must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK; AND
  • You cannot be 'ordinarily resident'. A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces. Time spent in the UK as an employee, or dependent of an employee, of a US agency serving and supporting the US Visiting Forces (i.e., active duty military, federal civilian, AAFES, Red Cross, one of the contract universities, a military banking facility or federal credit union, or US government contractors) is not counted toward being 'ordinary resident'. In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between the US and the UK, British citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, they may be eligible to apply for local national positions on base.
