Thank you for your interest in a Maintenance Mechanic position with the Department of the Army. Your resume and the responses you provide to this assessment questionnaire will be used to determine if you are among the best qualified for this position. Your responses are subject to verification. 1. From the descriptions below select the appropriate response based on your level of experience, education, and/or training, that you fully possess and that demonstrates your ability to perform Maintenance Mechanic, WG-4749-10 duties without more than normal supervision.

A. I have the ability to perform difficult and complex duties as maintenance mechanic. I am often consulted by other employees or in difficult situation regarding the performance of the following duties. I perform full range of maintenance and repair of various items of installed, dam operating, or mobile equipment and machinery. I use a variety of hand and power shop tools such as drill press, bench grinder, planer, jointer, vise, and table saw. I operate heavy equipment to include overhead cranes, forklift truck, pick-up truck, manlifts and skid steers to safely and accurately maneuver supplies and materials to accomplish repairs, replacement, or creation of projects.

B. I have the ability to perform the full range of duties as maintenance mechanic. I am skilled in maintenance and repair of various items of installed, dam operating, or mobile equipment and machinery. I inspection and perform maintenance and repair of various items of installed, dam operating, or mobile equipment and machinery. I use a variety of hand and power shop tools such as drill press, bench grinder, planer, jointer, vise, and table saw. I operate heavy equipment to include overhead cranes, forklift truck, pick-up truck, manlifts and skid steers to safely and accurately maneuver supplies and materials to accomplish repairs, replacement, or creation of projects.

C. I have the ability to perform common duties as maintenance worker. I can perform the maintenance and repair of equipment including structural, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical operating components. I work under the close general supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee to observe tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

D. I have the ability to perform basic repairs to structural, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical operating components. I have received basic training on the use of various power tools and general maintenance.

E. I do not possess the abilities as described above.
