1. Select the one statement that best describes the education that you possess that demonstrates your ability to perform the work of Fish Biologist at the GS-09 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service.

A. I have a bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in biological science that included at least 6 semester hours in aquatic subjects such as limnology, ichthyology, fishery biology, aquatic botany, aquatic fauna, oceanography, fish culture, or related courses in the field of fishery biology; AND at least 12 semester hours in the animal sciences in such subjects as general zoology, vertebrate zoology, comparative anatomy, physiology, entomology, parasitology, ecology, cellular biology, genetics, or research in these fields, or excess course work (beyond the required 6 semester hours) in aquatic subjects. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

B. I have a combination of education and experience which includes courses equivalent to a major in biological science (i.e., at least 30 semester hours), of which a minimum of 6 semester hours were in aquatic subjects and 12 semester hours were in the animal sciences, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

C. I do not possess the education described above.

2. Select the one statement that best describes the education and/or experience that you possess that demonstrates your ability to perform the work of Fish Biologist at the GS-09 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service.

A. I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes applying fish or other animal management methodologies and techniques to assist in the development, planning, and conduct of fish management programs.

B. I have 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate related education leading to a master's degree OR master's or equivalent graduate degree. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

C. I have the specialized experience as described in A, but less than 1 year; and I have more than 1 year of graduate level education, but less than 2 years as described in B. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your graduate semester hours completed in excess of the first 18 semester hours and divide by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification)

D. I have the experience as described in A AND the education described in B. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

E. My experience and/or education is not reflected in any of the above statements.
