Priority Placement Program, DoD Military Reserve (MR) and National Guard (NG) Technician Eligible
I am an MR or NG Reserve Technician who will lose or has lost my military membership through no fault of my own after completing at least 15 years of technician service and a minimum of 20 years of service creditable for non-regular retirement. I am exercising my preference eligibility to DoD positions within my local commuting area in accordance with Section 3329(b) of Title 5, U.S.C. This preference eligibility is valid for 1 year after separation.

Priority Placement Program, DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) Eligible
I am a military spouse who is currently married to my active duty sponsor. I am exercising my preference eligibility for positions within the local commuting area of my sponsor's current duty station. I certify that I have not accepted nor declined a permanent, continuing Federal or non-appropriated fund position in the local commuting area of our current duty location.
NOTE: Military spouses are eligible for one permanent noncompetitive appointment using their preference eligibility for the duration of the active duty sponsor's assignment to a permanent duty station, as long as the military spouse has not declined or accepted a permanent Federal or non-appropriated fund position in the commuting area of the sponsor's current duty location. If you certify that you have not used your preference at your sponsor's current duty location and it is discovered to be untrue, you may be subject to loss of MSP and possible disciplinary action.

Provide/compute coastal hydraulic/hydrodynamic engineering input (e.g., water level, wave, tides) for study documents and related modeling (or empirical estimation) tasks, and compile references in the development of design criteria for coastal engineering and related works.

Document coastal hydraulic/hydrodynamic observations, empirical or in-situ data analyses, and numerical modeling for various comprehensive engineering reports (e.g., Water Stages Reports, Beach Physical Monitoring Reports, Coastal Structure Analysis Reports for various Design Documentation Reports, Modeling Documentation Reports, Engineering Appendices for Federal planning studies, etc.)

Identify critical data necessary to initiate analyses that determine coastal/hydraulic engineering design criteria for project features (e.g., hydrographic surveys, historic stage data, As-built drawings, etc.).

Build, execute, and interpret USACE coastal-planning models (e.g. SBEACH, CSHORE, Beach-fx, G2CRM, etc.) for USACE planning studies.

Review and perform coastal hydraulic/hydrodynamic investigations including analyses of littoral transport, sediment budgets, inlet hydrodynamics, beach nourishment, and related coastal activities.

Physically inspect project areas (field investigations) to determine site characterization and necessary features needed to meet project objectives, including assessment of coastal parameters, wave and water current patterns, and other hydraulic/hydrodynamic characteristics.
9.
Maintain competency in wave and hydraulic/hydrodynamic flow analyses with the ability to apply wave and/or hydraulic/hydrodynamic modeling software (e.g., SBEACH, CMS, ADCIRC, Delft3D, Mike21, etc.) to simulate hydraulic/hydrodynamic processes and evaluate the effect/impact of these processes on existing and with-project conditions.

Utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe, and/or other data processing and reporting products for various project and non-project work tasks.

Develop and maintain a working knowledge of policies and technical standards pertaining to coastal/hydraulic engineering (e.g., USACE policies and regulations).

Utilize data processing tools (e.g., GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.) for pre- and post-processing of numerical models, geo-spatial data processing and evaluation, and reporting.
