Eligibilities

Priority Placement Program (PPP) DoD Military Reserve (MR) and National Guard (NG) Technicians: I am an MR or NG Reserve Technician who will lose or has lost my military membership through no fault of my own after completing at least 15 years of technician service and a minimum of 20 years of service creditable for non-regular retirement. I am exercising my preference eligibility to DoD positions within my local commuting area in accordance with Section 3329(b) of Title 5, U.S.C. This preference eligibility is valid for 1 year after separation.
NOTE 1: If you indicate "yes" to this question, you must submit a copy of the "Military Reserve and National Guard Technician PPP Self-Certification Checklist" and copies of the appropriate documentation, such as the notification letter you received showing you are no longer eligible for military or NG membership (through no fault of your own) and that you have completed at least 15 years of technician service and a minimum of 20 years of service creditable for non-regular retirement.
NOTE 2: By using this eligibility, you certify that you have not obtained permanent Federal employment, nor have you accepted or declined a PPP job offer.

(6) Developing, implementing, or providing training in fire protection and prevention (7) Firefighting and fire prevention theory and techniques; (8) Fixed and mobile firefighting equipment operation. (9) Planning, directing, or carrying out fire protection and prevention programs and operations and/or (10) Performing emergency medical services?

Drive and operate firefighting vehicles, such as pumpers, mobile water supply apparatus, and Airport Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) vehicles.

Operate emergency vehicles in a Federal Aviation Administration controlled civilian airport environment with experience operating in and around controlled movement areas on an airfield.
5.
Operate or deactivate specialized mechanisms and systems, such as hatch or canopy release mechanisms, ejection seat mechanisms, oxygen supply systems, emergency aircraft shut down procedures, and egress components for civilian and military aircraft.
6.
Maintain constant awareness of levels in self-contained breathing apparatus and warns other firefighters when tanks are close to empty.
7.
Perform and direct assigned crew in functional tests and inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and housekeeping duties associated with assigned facilities.
8.
Perform standby duty during aircraft refueling and defueling, engine maintenance and testing, welding, and burning on fueled and/or armed aircraft, ammunition handling, or other special circumstances.
9.
Maintain constant awareness of the frequent changes in cockpit design, ordnance placement, and cabin layouts to determine how they affect the difficulty of rescue and firefighting.
10.
Perform pre-fire planning by physically going through structures to become familiar with the layout, fire hazards, and location of fixed fire protection systems.
11.
Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
12.
Perform and direct assigned crew in the performance of crash/rescue and firefighting duties at airfields handling large or complex aircraft (e.g., fighters, bombers, cargo, passenger).
13.
Perform and lead assigned crew in the rescue of personnel and a variety of first aid measures to alleviate further injury and prepare the victim(s) for transport to a medical facility.
