Thank you for your interest in these positions, Biological Science Technician, GS-0404-07 located at Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area. This is a Seasonal Temporary Position Not to Exceed 1039 Hours positions. Identify and control of invasive, non-native plants, pests, and pathogens using integrated pest management protocols
3.
Transport and mix pesticides for controlling invasive exotic plants. Read and understand pesticide labels and safety data sheets (SDS/MSDS)

Control invasive exotic plants using manual (hand pulling) and mechanical (cutting) methods.

Perform natural resources management inventory and monitoring activities.

Work outdoors conducting physical labor and collecting resource data for extended periods in a range of weather conditions (hot, cold, windy, rainy, etc.).

Work on remote field projects that involve hiking off-trail long distances over rough terrain, often carrying up to 50 pounds.
