Complete and maintain field notes and assorted archeological field forms, such as field specimen provenience forms, excavation unit forms, and photo logs.

Complete and maintaining drawings, maps, and digital photographs of archeological sites, features, and excavation units.
4.
Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and theories related to the study of human history and prehistory through the excavation of sites and the analysis of artifacts and other physical remains.
5.
Identify the cultural origins of artifacts and features from prehistoric and historic sites in the southeastern United States.
6.
Conduct archeological field surveys by walking over the landscape and searching for archeological features and artifacts either by pedestrian survey or by shovel testing.
7.
Conduct archeological field research and excavations of prehistoric and/or historic sites, using standard testing and sampling methodologies, that are appropriate to the Southeast.
8.
Record archeological and environmental data pertaining to prehistoric and/or historic sites and prepare survey records such as shovel test forms, archeological site inventory forms, site condition assessment forms, site maps, photographs, and state site forms.
9.
Conduct basic archeological lab work including washing and re-bagging artifacts without losing provenience information.
10.
Use electronic recording equipment such as transits, global positioning systems, and geographic information systems to record data pertaining to prehistoric and/or historic sites in the Southeast.
11.
Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Access) for archeological research.
12.
Perform data entry of archeological artifact and project data (artifact information, catalog records, field notes, site records) into computer programs, such as databases
