Performs installation and repair of basic building hardware such as door and cabinet hardware, bathroom and plumbing hardware, window hardware and electrical hardware.

Experience to operate and maintain two-stroke and gas powered equipment.

Sharpen cutting edges and replace handles on trowels, hoes, chisels, axes, shovels, etc.

Clean public restrooms and other visitor use facilities, including scrubbing toilets and sinks, wiping windows, disinfecting surfaces, sweeping, and mopping floors.

Performs minor plumbing such as tightening or replacing in-kind fittings and fixtures, replacing faucet washers, and unplugging drains.

Use tape measures, squares, levels, chalk lines, etc. to measure, mark and cut a variety of materials for maintenance and repair project.

Use liquid measuring devices to measure the volume of liquids when mixing fuels and oils, paints, and cleaning solvents in correct proportions.

Estimate material and time requirements for projects.
13.
Follow written instructions (e.g. blueprints, specifications, work orders, sketches, etc. to complete maintenance and construction projects.

Use appropriate safety equipment (e.g., hard hats, gloves, goggles, safety shoes) to help prevent injuries.

Use a computer to input and maintain work orders, report time and attendance, and communicate with supervisor and peer.

Operate and maintain grounds maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, edgers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment (i.e. mowers, trimmers, etc.

Select painting materials to work on different surfaces (e.g., paint thinner, paints, varnish, stains, sealers, fillers, sandpaper).

Select and use a variety of cleaning agents using correct dilution ratios.

Safely handle and dispose of hazardous products such as chemical cleaners, battery acids and glycol mixes.

Select proper carpentry and plumbing materials and tools.

Safely lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
