1. GS-13 Grade Requirements: To qualify for the GS-13 grade level, do you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level?

Knowledge of agency program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key program events and milestones, and methods of evaluating program events, milestones and accomplishments.


Ability to effectively supervise others by setting priorities, assigning work, evaluating work of subordinates and developing subordinates for increased responsibility and succession planning.

Skill to plan, organize and direct team study work to accept and implement recommendations where proposals from the EMT involve substantial agency resources, require extensive changes in established procedures or may be in conflict with the desires of the activity studied

Broad knowledge of Federal government policies, regulations, and trends in the areas of personnel, budgeting and management systems, as well as an understanding of the public and private sector trends in health care.

2. Serves as the HSS/Group Practice Manager (GPM) in Psychiatry and Mental Health Service and actively collaborates with the Chief and Assistant Chief of the Psychiatry and Mental Health Service, and the Deputy Chief of Staff (limit characters)
3. Provides oversight and administrative management of all patient care provided by Psychiatry and Mental Health Service within the medical center, at Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) and other off-site VA clinical space (limit characters)
4. Conducts or participates in special information flow studies, analyses, presentations and briefings, as assigned. (limit characters)
5. Ensures that care is integrated into an efficient Clinic Practice Management model not only as it relates to Psychiatry and Mental Health Service, but any other clinical Service as assigned by the Chief of Staff. Responsible for supporting high quality patient experience for the Veteran, by acting on feedback from the Veteran, their family and/or significant others, VAMC employees and expert clinical staff. 6. Works with the Executive Management Team (EMT) and fellow HSS/GPMs to develop strategic plans for the facility as it relates to access to care. Measures and assesses clinical business activities with an emphasis on improving clinical product line performance. (limit characters)
7. Identify and implement improvements to optimize clinic management processes, access strategies and 'make-buy" decisions through an in-depth analysis of in-house and non-VA provided care. (limit characters)
8. Continuously evaluates the current outpatient services model with the medical center, VISN, and throughout VHA in order to propose access changes that will result in extensive changes in medical center policy. (limit characters)
