Conditions of Employment

This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required. Are you willing to undergo pre-employment and recurring investigations to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance as required?

This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health & ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. Are you willing to submit to a pre-employment physical and willing to maintain a level of physical fitness to obtain and maintain employment as required?

The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident. Are you willing to refrain from the use of illegal drugs and submit to a pre-employment drug screening and random testing thereafter to obtain and maintain employment in this position?

This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. Are you willing and able to report to work or remain at work under adverse conditions to obtain and maintain this position?

Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights. Are you willing to serve a one year probationary period?

This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time. Are you willing and able to travel away from your permanent duty station up to 5% of the time?

This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion. Do you have, or are you willing to obtain and maintain BLS certification?

Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series. This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4. A job offer to an applicant who is not a current employee subject to this requirement will be withdrawn if the candidate refuses to undergo immunization screening. This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. Lead treatment team review sessions with patients and staff and monitors group-counseling sessions.

Provide training and mentoring of assigned treatment team counselor's day to day performance in all aspects of their clinical work.

Provide individual and classroom training for counselors regarding the management of the clinical file and documentation in the electronic medical record.
13.
Coordinate the practicum training experience with all involved at the site and the educational institution initiating the practicum.
14.
Manage psycho educational patient workshops ensuring relevant training is provided and that workshops meet the highest standard of care.
15.
Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing relapse or other challenges in their recovery.
16.
Evaluate treatment outcomes by collecting and analyzing data to assess the effectiveness of treatment plans and makes necessary adjustments.
17.
Collaborate closely with medical staff, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
18.
See patients who may be struggling in treatment or are not adhering to treatment program guidelines, providing interventions and recommendations.
19.
Provide individual and group therapy sessions to support clients in their recovery efforts.
20.
Ensure competencies are met for counselors, facilitates scheduling of training to meet these competencies, and documents counselor competencies.
21.
Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
22.
Develop group and personalized treatment plans based on comprehensive substance abuse evaluations.
