2. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION FOR GS-5: Do you have at least one (1) year of specialized experience with particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position successfully that is equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level in the Federal Service? Examples of specialized experience includes experience in setting up, cleaning and routine maintenance of selected clinical instrumentation; directing patients, answering routine inquiries, making referrals; NOTE: Evidence of specialized experience must be supported on your resume by detailed description of duties performed in positions held.
OR have you completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, with major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to this position? NOTE: One year of full-time academic study is defines as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 week in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
OR do you have a combination of the required experience and education. NOTE: Two full academic years of study, or 60 semester hours, beyond the second year is equivalent to l year of specialized experience. Determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the year of specialized experience required at the GS-5 level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education that meets the requirements for GS-5. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for GS-5.
