Thank you for your interest in a Lead Medical Technician position with Department of the Army. 1. Select the one statement below that best describes the education and/or experience that you possess that demonstrates your ability to perform the work of a Lead Medical Technician at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service.

A. I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Measuring vital signs of applicants/patients (i.e., taking blood pressure, pulse, respiration readings); Collecting specimens (i.e., blood, urine, tissue) from lab or directly from patient; Cleaning and/or sterilizing medical equipment; Performing laboratory tests and examinations (i.e., chemical, microbiologic, hematologic and blood banking); Analyzing results of medical tests; Electronic health record familiarity (i.e., MHS Genesis). The OPM Qualification Standard provides the following examples: (a) Technical medical laboratory support work such as performing laboratory tests and examinations (chemical, microbiologic, hematologic and blood banking) and preparing reports of findings or (b) technical support work in a closely related field, e.g., biological laboratory technician work, that required application of the methods and techniques for the position to be filled.

B. I have successfully completed one full year of graduate education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position such as Medical Technology/Technician, Medical Assistant, Nursing, Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts).
