Screen-out: Are you able to do the duties of a Utility System Operator at the WG-09 level without more than normal supervision? This includes the ability to operate and repair the various pumps, draft fans and all controls and the ability to operate and repair such auxiliary equipment as economizers, soot blowers, burners, feedwater pumps, deairating equipment, fuel pumps, and related piping.

Operate the METASYS computer system and respond to all alarms occurring during his/her shift.

Operate the centralized computer control systems to control, adjust, start/ stop, modify set point for air handling systems, intrusion alarms, and other systems throughout the hospital.

Log all critical failures and temperatures and notifies appropriate, personnel of any action taken due to unusual circumstances.
5.
Calculates efficiencies on the boilers and chiller in operation.
6.
Calculates make up water percentage, average 02, stack temperature, pollution emissions, feed water temperature, steam to out buildings, and the high low steam loads.
7.
Knowledge of schematics, manufacture's guides, and all national codes.
8.
Interpret blueprints and technical manuals. He/she must be safety-oriented and must maintain a clean and safe environment.
9.
Operating and maintaining flue gas recirculation system and calculating/monitoring emissions to ensure air quality permit compliance.
10.
Operation and repair of two 500 h.p. and one 350 h.p. Nebraska "0" type water tube multi-fuel gas/oil fired high pressure boilers which are capable of producing 46,750 lbs/hr steam each at 125 P.S.I.
11.
Operation and repair to the central air conditioning plant, equipment consisting of 1350 tons of electrically generated air conditioning capacity.
12.
Complete all minor and most major repairs preventative maintenance as well as all routine safety checks on all equipment located in both the Boiler and Air Conditioning Plants.
