Screen-Out Element: The Maintenance Worker provides entry-level job duties in functions needed for repair of various equipment that is mechanical, electrical, or plumbing in nature.

I have assisted in the operation of new and existing utility, supply and disposal systems such as water, oil, gas distribution systems installed in commercial or industrial facilities.

I use the full range of hand and power tools associated with testing and repairing mechanical equipment and components.

I can assist to operate, maintain, and repair pumps, strainer, valves, meters, and other components of a waste treatment system.

I make repairs that can be accomplished by removing, replacing, tightening, splicing, soldering and insulating defective wiring, controls, equipment and fixtures such as burnt out switches and relays, loose connections and fittings, damaged motors.

I replace defective mechanical parts such as gears, bushings, brushes, armatures, belts, pulleys and bearings.
13.
I can maintain, operate, and repair air filtration systems.

I have performed preventative maintenance procedures on equipment such as: cleaning coils on condensers, changing air handler filters or greasing motors or pumps.
15.
I can operate, maintain and repair pumps, motors, controls and high voltage circuitry in a chilled water cooling system.
16.
I locate broken, worn, damaged or poorly operating electrical wiring, fixtures, controls, and equipment through visual checks or use of a variety of test equipment.

With guidance, I read and understand electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams; follow drawings and diagrams such as detailing what connections should be made to replace electrical devices.
