Complete and maintaining drawings, maps, and digital photographs of archeological sites, features, and excavation units.

Identify classes of artifacts, material culture, and features from the southeastern United States.

Analyze, classify, and describe technological attributes of artifacts, such as types of ceramic temper, lithic flaking patterns, and ceramic decorations.

Interact with the general public, scientists, archeologists, historians, students, professors, or other subject-matter specialists, who have a professional or academic interest in the values represented by the archeological, historical, or scientific research.

Write or edit archeological reports, report chapters, articles, or presentations.

Establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers and other agency personnel, representing diverse and varying backgrounds.

Participate in archeological field research using standard testing and sampling methodologies, such as hand excavation of test units in arbitrary and natural levels, hand screening of excavated soils for artifacts, and distinguishing natural objects from cultural artifacts in the field, that are appropriate to the Southeast and Caribbean.

Record data and prepare survey records such as site maps, photographs, artifact analysis forms, field notes.
