Conditions of Employment

Thank you for your interest in a Security Guard, GS-0085-06/07, position with the Bureau of Reclamation. To qualify at the GS-06, you must possess one year of specialized experience is defined as work with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. Such experience must have provided a knowledge of protective systems and techniques. Acceptable experience includes service in the Armed Services or Coast Guard that involved the performance of guard duties on a regular or intermittent basis.

To qualify at the GS-07, you must possess one year of specialized experience at this level is defined as work with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. Such experience must have provided a knowledge of safe weapons handling practices and protective systems and techniques. Acceptable experience includes service in the Armed Services or Coast Guard that involved the performance of guard duties on a regular or intermittent basis. Preferred candidates will have specialized experience gained through service in a combat arms, (i.e. infantry, armor, special operations) or combat support (i.e. military police, field artillery, military occupational specialty) in any of the armed services.
