SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GL-09) in the Federal service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of this position? Specialized experience such as: Performing law enforcement duties including investigation, apprehending, detaining, arresting, or prosecuting and/or include detection, issuing citations; transporting prisoners to detention facilities, and prosecuting violators of a variety of law enforcement laws, rules, and regulations that have been enacted to insure the protection and safe use of facilities and resources; exercising necessary technical and supervisory responsibilities to plan, direct, implement, evaluate, and coordinate the functions of a Law Enforcement Program.

Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills. Experience as a security guard or corrections officer is generally not qualifying.
